Born in Lake Ronkonkoma,
NY, Michael R. Ebert graduated from Pennsylvania-based Muhlenberg College and holds a B.A. in Communications.
During his career, the
Long Islander has worked with media outlets including Summer Life Magazine, Telecare TV, Institutional Investor
Newsletters, Suffolk Life Newspapers, The Long Island Forum, The Ronkonkoma Review, The Suffolk County News, Islip Bulletin,
and Newsday.
He is perhaps best known for research he compiled in
2002 on the legends and myths of Lake Ronkonkoma that is available at some local libraries. He is also
creator of The Mooreatorium, an unofficial online community for fans of keyboardist Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater, Chroma
Key, OSI) that he founded in 2009.
Today, Ebert is a reporter for the Long Island Desk of Newsday, one
