Born in Lake Ronkonkoma,
NY, Michael R. Ebert graduated from Pennsylvania-based Muhlenberg College and holds a B.A. in Communications.
During his career, the
Long Islander has written for various media outlets including The Muhlenberg Weekly, Summer Life Magazine, Telecare,
Institutional Investor Newsletters, Suffolk Life Newspapers, The Long Island Forum, The Ronkonkoma Review, The Suffolk County
News, the Islip Bulletin and Newsday.
He is perhaps best known for research he compiled in
2002 on the various legends and myths of Lake Ronkonkoma that can be found in several Long Island libraries. He is also
the author of several books and creator of The Mooreatorium, an online community for fans of keyboardist Kevin Moore that includes Q&As with
various progressive metal musicians.
Today, Ebert is a reporter for the Long Island Desk of Newsday, which
